Gov. DeSantis' 4/1/2020 Executive Order defines "Essential Activities" as: "Participating in recreational activities (with social distancing guidelines) such as walking, biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, running, swimming, and taking care of pets". Therefore, PCB Parks & Recreation facilities will remain open including: PCB Parks, Playgrounds, Outdoor Tennis, Basketball, and Pickleball Courts, PCB Aquatic Center (open for lap swimming only), Russell-Fields City Pier, Gayle's Trails, Park Trails, and Dog Parks. All Parks & Recreation Buildings and organized programs have been cancelled and PCB Beaches remain closed. People should continue to keep a social distance of 6' and not congregate in groups larger than 10 people. Link to Gov. April 1-April 5 Schedule & Limited Admission Requirements
The 50-meter Olympic size pool is open for lap swimming only. All Family Swim Time and Water Exercise Classes have been cancelled. The Kid's Splash Pool remains closed. Below is the lap swimming schedule for April 1-April 5th:
LAP SWIMMING: * short course only Monday-Friday 10:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Saturday 7 a.m.-Noon Sunday 1-4 p.m.
Given the current social distancing directives from Governor DeSantis, please see the limited admission requirements below: 1. Each person entering the Aquatic Center will be required to sign-in and sign-out. 2. Although we have locker rooms, please minimize usage whenever possible. 3. Lap swimming will be limited to ONE swimmer per lane. 4. Water Exercise class and Family Swim Time have been cancelled 5. Swim participants must remain 6 feet apart. 6. Any person under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a supervising adult. Other updates will be distributed as new information is provided. The Panama City Beach Aquatic Center is open all year round. The 50m pool is heated to 80-82 degrees during the winter months. We are an outdoor only facility.
